Summary

Been reading fast reads like manga and picture books to catch up with my yearly goal of 120 books lately。 So this is one of them。 I’ve been collecting the English version of Kimetsu and for some reason vol。 3 was always out of stock。 Great story with powerful messages like be a man, protect your sister as you are the first born boy。 Now I see why this mangas old fashioned chivalry resonated so much with the steadily right turning Japanese society where it has reached to the full fledged status o Been reading fast reads like manga and picture books to catch up with my yearly goal of 120 books lately。 So this is one of them。 I’ve been collecting the English version of Kimetsu and for some reason vol。 3 was always out of stock。 Great story with powerful messages like be a man, protect your sister as you are the first born boy。 Now I see why this mangas old fashioned chivalry resonated so much with the steadily right turning Japanese society where it has reached to the full fledged status of a social phenomenon。 I see the similar sentiment of men are supposed to protect the weak(women and children) expressed several times in the new Taiga period drama。 I’ll be keeping the vigil on this as I read on。 Very entertaining and emotionally manipulative。 Highly recommend。 Five stars。 。。。more

zenitsu is annoying, but i do wonder *why* exactly he’s so afraid of everything。 tanjiro, again, captures my heart。 ugh oldest siblings always have it the hardest, so tanjiro does have a point there, but i don’t think we should discount the younger siblings either。 regardless, tanjiro is literally so kind and for what? how can a guy who has lost so much still continue to spare kind words for those who desperately need them but won’t admit to it out loud? like, how does tanjiro just always know a zenitsu is annoying, but i do wonder *why* exactly he’s so afraid of everything。 tanjiro, again, captures my heart。 ugh oldest siblings always have it the hardest, so tanjiro does have a point there, but i don’t think we should discount the younger siblings either。 regardless, tanjiro is literally so kind and for what? how can a guy who has lost so much still continue to spare kind words for those who desperately need them but won’t admit to it out loud? like, how does tanjiro just always know anyway? hm。 well, 4 stars from me again! 3。5 stars。 I'm glad they made it so Nezuko still has her own will, I didn't like the idea of her being hypnotized and that's the only reason she cared。 I love her, she is my favorite besides Tanjiro。 I like that he still has compassion for the demons。 Idk if its just because I don't have to listen to his annoying voice, but I like Zenitsu better in the manga than the anime lol 😂 3。5 stars。 I'm glad they made it so Nezuko still has her own will, I didn't like the idea of her being hypnotized and that's the only reason she cared。 I love her, she is my favorite besides Tanjiro。 I like that he still has compassion for the demons。 Idk if its just because I don't have to listen to his annoying voice, but I like Zenitsu better in the manga than the anime lol 😂 。。。more

Reading this series is a constant vocalized inner monologue of the characters with bare minimum visual story development to reference what they're trying to explain。 Tanjiro now has all these techniques and different forms for cutting down demons, but simply shouts out the names without majority of them actually being attempted to be shown or portrayed at all。 This happens frequently throughout the series where characters vocalize what is happening with a rudimentary scene not portraying it very Reading this series is a constant vocalized inner monologue of the characters with bare minimum visual story development to reference what they're trying to explain。 Tanjiro now has all these techniques and different forms for cutting down demons, but simply shouts out the names without majority of them actually being attempted to be shown or portrayed at all。 This happens frequently throughout the series where characters vocalize what is happening with a rudimentary scene not portraying it very well。 Koyoharu Gotouge is a good enough artist, but doesn't merge the art of storytelling with their visual art and it feels like they should only be focusing on one or the other with the help of someone else。 What it leaves is a lot to be desired of the author/artist trying to tell through word what would be more favorable to pair with/show in the manga panels or else why did he choose to tell this story through visual form at all? 。。。more

Unlike the first two Demon Slayer mangas, I really flew through this volume。 This volume gave me an appreciation for Tanjiro's character。 It's rare to come across protagonists that respect and have (to some extent) empathy to their enemies。 The fight with the Tsuzumi demon was amazing。 A little more drawn out than I cared for, but I found the fight scene to be creative。 It really shows Tanjiro's battle prowess and ability to adapt to any situation。 I was expecting to hate Zenitsu, but I love his Unlike the first two Demon Slayer mangas, I really flew through this volume。 This volume gave me an appreciation for Tanjiro's character。 It's rare to come across protagonists that respect and have (to some extent) empathy to their enemies。 The fight with the Tsuzumi demon was amazing。 A little more drawn out than I cared for, but I found the fight scene to be creative。 It really shows Tanjiro's battle prowess and ability to adapt to any situation。 I was expecting to hate Zenitsu, but I love his character。 I found his cowardice both endearing and hilarious。 I can't wait to see more of him throughout the series。 I would write about Inosuke, but where do I even begin with him? I found the boar mask to be very creative and a great representation of his bestial character。 Normally, every time I see a "beast-like" character in stories, it's always a bear, wolf, or a lion。 It was a nice change of pace to see a boar being used。 I could talk for days about Demon Slayer Vol。 3, but I'll keep my review short。 I really enjoyed this volume and can't wait to read what happens next。 。。。more

In this volume, we're continuing to see Tanjiro grow as a Demon Slayer and he and Nezuko are continuing to try and find out more information regarding the Demons in general。 Once again, the art is very well done。 We're also introduced and/or reintroduced to two more characters in this volume。 One of which is Zenitsu, one of the Demon Slayers we met at the final stage of Tanjiro's Demon Slayer training。 Now Zenitsu has a few less than stellar personality traits I prefer in a character, I will say In this volume, we're continuing to see Tanjiro grow as a Demon Slayer and he and Nezuko are continuing to try and find out more information regarding the Demons in general。 Once again, the art is very well done。 We're also introduced and/or reintroduced to two more characters in this volume。 One of which is Zenitsu, one of the Demon Slayers we met at the final stage of Tanjiro's Demon Slayer training。 Now Zenitsu has a few less than stellar personality traits I prefer in a character, I will say, however; when push comes to shove he can hold his own in a fight。 I can also see him proving a few comedic moments especially when we've had a lot of serious moments up until this point。 I will also say he put a pretty good smile on my face at the end of this volume which gives me hope for his character。 We also encountered a new mysterious fighter, on Tanjiro and Zenitsu's latest mission one who it's kind of unclear what their motivations are, but one's I'm interested in learning about and how they will fit within our squad of characters。 Also want to mention again, the detail and uniqueness regarding the design choices the mangaka puts into the demons of this world。 A really great volume。 Definitely glad I chose to give this series another chance。 。。。more

When it comes to battle manga, I think that sometimes battles are better in the anime。 This is definitely the case in battle in this volume。 Such a tight story, but I really recommend the anime here because the drawn scenes arent as impactful as the animated ones, in part because of the sound too。

。。。more

Even though Zenitsu is so scared to fight, he protected Nezuko 🖤Tanjiros next task was to go to a mansion and fight the blood demons。 He comes across Boar Head while fighting the blood demons。 He was able to save a brother and sister and killed the blood demons。

This is yet another solid entry in Demon Slayer。 The fight that concluded mid chapter is a good one, yet manga readers have seen this a thousand times before - some little backyard skirmish between the good and the bad。 I don't complain though。 The temari balls and arrows sure did highlight Tanjirou and Nezuko's fighting prowess, their flexibility in battle, and quick thinking。Zenitsu on the other hand is mildly annoying。 He annoyed me at the anime, so does here in the manga。 Gotouge overdid it This is yet another solid entry in Demon Slayer。 The fight that concluded mid chapter is a good one, yet manga readers have seen this a thousand times before - some little backyard skirmish between the good and the bad。 I don't complain though。 The temari balls and arrows sure did highlight Tanjirou and Nezuko's fighting prowess, their flexibility in battle, and quick thinking。Zenitsu on the other hand is mildly annoying。 He annoyed me at the anime, so does here in the manga。 Gotouge overdid it writing Zenitsu's character。 His eventual power reveal, which is definitely badass is waay too short to redeem himself。 But yeah, I'll keep on reading。 Demon Slayer is just so good。 。。。more
